Use SEO Strategies to Improve Web Traffic

Every new technology adopted widely by society brings about a number of new opportunities. The movable type printing press created affordable print information, the telephone and radio created the concept of instantaneous communication over great distances. Today, the Internet has unified both of these concepts into the information explosion that is the digital age.

Consider this article alone – a mere forty years ago printing even fifty copies of each page would cost either a chunk of change or at least a suspicious look from the boss as you hovered over the office copier. Now the information can be sent to thousands of people within the time it takes to brew a good cup of tea.

Of course with every technology comes a system to make the best marketing use of that advancement. The radio gave rise to the modern commercial advertisement, which was refined by the television and still persists on the Web. The telephone gave us telemarketers and the first concept of communication networking. For making the most of the Internet, the strategy of the day is Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

What is SEO, again?

In short, SEO is the presentation of a webpage in such a way that it consistently ranks highly in particular search engine results. While fads and sensations can quickly boom online from “word of mouth,” they don’t produce the same reliable success as a balanced, systematic approach.

Very few businesses, after all, want one rush of attention that leads to a website crash, followed by an equally quick slide into the various forgotten graveyards of the web. Therefore, SEO uses a combination of elements to make the site increasingly relevant to the various searches that Internet users perform, to bring it up again and again among the best results.

Key SEO Strategies

1. Set Goals

Identify what you want your SEO campaign to accomplish. While any SEO-conscious writing and page design can contribute to a site’s search engine rankings, an unfocused effort will simply waste time and money. After all, a business promoting athletic clothing and footwear may not benefit too much from showing up in searches for evening wear. Is your goal simply to improve your site’s visitor traffic? Do you want to generate more sales of a product? Is it part of an effort to promote your digital brand? Each of these goals benefits from different aspects of SEO technique.

2. Link Up

Link building is one of the cornerstones of any SEO effort. Many search engines are spider-based, meaning they use automated processes to collect and categorize information on various websites. When a large number of websites provide links back to your business, or when a particularly high-traffic site does so, the spiders take notice of it and raise the relevance of that link in searches related to those sites.

3. Get the Keys

Keyword writing is consistently stressed as a requirement when websites look for content writers. Keywords are just that, words and phrases chosen for their popularity and relevance to key searches.

There are dozens of theories about keyword writing. In the earlier days of SEO writing, it wasn’t uncommon to see pages that were nothing but long strings of repeated variations on a few keywords. This has evolved into more organic writing that fits in keywords with the article as a whole.

Whichever strategy is chosen, care must be taken to avoid the temptation to abuse keyword searches. Yes, a proper keyword density will bring up your search rankings over time. However, Google can and does ban pages from its index when they determine it to be a keyword-abusing effort. So consider your keyword choices carefully, and seamlessly integrate them into your entire strategy.

4. Be on the Right Page

One aspect occasionally neglected in SEO is the architecture and design of the webpage itself. Search engines and their ranking systems (be they spider or human based) are growing more sophisticated all the time, and look at many different factors in their decisions. A site that buries its keyword-rich articles on interior pages behind dozens of subsidiary links will not perform as well as one with strategic keyword-oriented material right on the front page. Have an SEO-conscious designer look over your page, as well as your articles.

Remember that every business is a multi-faceted whole. Many failures occur when people attempt to compartmentalize too much. You can’t consider SEO as some sort of ‘event’ that you do every so often, just as a business can’t put off routine maintenance of their equipment and expect it to function properly. Integrate your efforts into the entire process, and give them the same focus as any other effort in the business, and they will return their investment much more reliably, quickly, and ideally.

SEO Ratios for Content, Links and Competing Pages

Finding the proper SEO ratios for content, links and competing pages is critical for determining where each keyword fits in the hierarchy. This correlation between site architecture, URL, title, internal links and deep links determines which keywords are liberated from lackluster status to blockbuster SEO rankings.

Finding the Proper Balance of SEO

Within each page is a balance, this balance is between the aggregate layers represented by that page and what it can pass along through its own relevance score and whether or not that page is contributing to or detracting from the websites relevancy for the most competitive keywords the site is set on acquiring.

Under this assumption, a page is either passive or active within a site. This status depends on how the page is linked, the context of the keywords used on the page and / or linked to the page and how that page links to other pages within the site.

One thing to keep in mind is that depending on the number of pages within a website, an accommodating SEO strategy should coincide that takes the content deliverables into consideration and whether or not the main push will come from on page (internal links, content, navigation) or off page (links from social bookmarking sites, themed authoritative sites, blogs, directories, article marketing or widgets).

Using this as a vector to see the entire site as a vibrant ecosystem, each page represents a unique node of relevance (like a piece of a puzzle) that corresponds to a keyword or group of related keywords known as a cluster.

Regardless of which on page or off page metrics you employ, you will need to align the site architecture with those metrics based on how competitive the keyword is and where it fits into that parent theme or keyword cluster.

We use competing pages as a baseline in tandem with (1) how many pages are indexed (2) how old the site is (3) if relevant deep links are present (4) if the competitive keywords (over 1 million competing pages in phrase match) are in the primary navigation, secondary navigation, footer links, alt attributes, meta data or internal links.

However, for the sake of being concise, we are going to address the competing pages metric as a primary metric for elaboration.

Although each circumstance is different and each website unique; you can at least use this as a temporal benchmark for performance as an internal guideline for structure.

   1. Keywords with 50K or less can get ranked from ambient co-occurrence.
   2. Keywords with 50-100K need approximately 15 deep links per page in addition to 10 secondary (informational) pages (min.) to provide internal links.
   3. Keywords with 100-300K need approximately 25-30 deep links and 15-20 pages. (min.) e.g. more trust, topical relevance from overlapping keywords.
   4. Keywords with 300-500K need approximately 50 deep links and 25 pages of content (min.) to provide significant ranking factor.
   5. Keywords with 500-750K need approximately 75 deep links and 50 pages of content (min.) to provide significant ranking factor.
   6. Keywords with 750K-1MM competing pages using “phrase match” need approximately 100 deep links and 75-100 pages (min.) of unified content.
   7. Keywords with 2MM competing pages or more “using phrase match” need approximately 250 deep links and 200+ pages (internally linked) with a preferred landing page to gain expression.

Obviously there are variables for every aspect of SEO and how individual campaigns play out, however these assumptions are based on our tests using a new site starting fresh with no SERP history for a given keyword within the range of phrase match mentioned.

To find the threshold for competitive keywords, simply place the keyword or phrase “in quotes” and commence with a Google search. The number of results returned from the search indicates how many pages Google is currently using as a benchmark for indexed pages that include that keyword or key phrase variation.

For keywords under 200K competing pages, simple internal linking is often sufficient from consolidating the number of pages internally through virtual theming (linking to the preferred page from every keyword occurrence on other pages).
However for more competitive keywords the number of deep links from related or authoritative sites with the preferred anchor text is required to offset the barrier to entry. This is why we suggest for keywords between 300-500,000 competing pages that you employ a variety of deep links to aid the process and create a buoyant search engine rankings.

There is a fleeting metric to this equation which is domain and page authority, both will impact the SERPs and individual keywords based on their relative values. For example, as a site becomes more authoritative, the need for off page ranking factor diminishes. Also, the correlation between indexation and PageRank all flow through the connectivity of the site architecture.

This means that by tactfully integrating the more competitive keywords into common areas (block segments, server side includes, secondary navigation, footer links, alt attributes, etc.) you provide additional weight to the relevance thresholds required to produce a shift in ranking algorithms (to imply that THE TARGET PAGE is important).

You may find that based on the authority of the site that keyword objectives are acquired faster or slower, depending on the aggregate number of pages provide on a topic within the website. Yet, this document can at least establish a baseline for you to use to structure a worthy assault to offset competitors in their varying degrees of occupancy in the SERPs (search engine result pages) for the desired keywords.

The grandfather effect and brand rank are real (meaning that geriocracy is real as well as preferential treatment of domains), so, there are some instances where this metric is completely obsolete, in which case you would have to look at the number of EDU links, powerhouse sites linking to a page and / or domain as well as the relevancy of the theme, total number of pages dedicated to the keyword with the site (as a valid competitive metric).

How to Check Backlinks

If you’re trying to get free traffic from Google you will need to have your site rank on the first page of Google for whatever keyword you are targeting. When choosing keywords to target you’ll want to take into consideration the level of search volume the word or phrase has, as well as the level of competition.

Once you’ve identified those elements and have your content online you’ll need to start building backlinks. How do you know how many links you have?

While there is plenty of variables in Google’s algorithm backlinks are well known to help your site rank in the search engine results. It is not only the number of links you have, but the quality of the links, as well a the anchor text you use in those links.

All the elements can get pretty overwhelming, but let’s just look at how many links you have and how to check.

You will have to use Yahoo to do this, as Google will never give you an actual measure of how many links you have pointing to your site. It will give you a sampling of the sites linking to your site. So we head over to Yahoo, who doesn’t seem to have this problem.

We’re not going straight to Yahoo search, but to the site explorer. Here’s the link:

https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/

Once you’re there you will put your url in the search box ~ or the site url you want to check backlinks for.

Site explorer will first show you the number of pages on the site ~ that’s not what you want. You want the links pointing to the site, so you’ll click the “inlinks” button. This will give you all the links pointing to your site, including links from your own site. While these count it is more accurate and helpful to look at the links you have pointing to your site from other sites.

Getting this piece of information is simple enough by clicking “except from this domain”. This will remove all the internal site links.

This will give you a list and number of backlinks you have pointing to your site.

Once you know this information you can use this process to check the backlinks of other sites trying to rank for the keywords you are targeting. You may find they have more or less backlinks than your site has and they may or may not be currently outranking you in Google.

This can be caused by several reasons. You may have all your links coming from a few sites. This happens when you comment on all the same blogs all the time, or if you submit all your posts to the same bookmarking sites. Variety is better.

The other reason sites with less backlinks than you may be outranking you may be because of the quality of the links they have. They may be using the specific keywords as the anchor text in more of their links. Their links may be coming from more relevant sites, or sites with better page rank. No matter the reason though, you know where you’re at, and you can keep building more quality links from quality sites and know that you will eventually overtake them in the ranking.

Will the SEO Bubble Burst ?

Being in the in the SEO industry for quite a while I have seen the industry speed up and grow extremely fast over the last five years and absolutely explode over just the last few years. Recently some are starting to understand that SEO is really a marketing approach and not a science project geared towards just achieving search engine rankings.

It is good that some businesses are starting to realize that this is the right approach that everyone should be taking and shifting their focus, but many are still clueless, dumping hundreds of articles and press releases per month, taking spammy approaches just to fill in the search engine results. What happens to all those companies that have been taking a science project approach and only worrying about rankings when Google and Bing drop the hammer on the SEO bubble? Will it ever happen? Who knows, people used to laugh when they heard the real estate industry would implode. Whos laughing now?

The search engines are clearly changing and I still see businesses everyday taking this horrendous approach to their SEO simply to achieve rankings. Google has come out and has clearly stated that personalized search will be making much more of an impact in the near future. When someone is logged into their Google account personalized search has already started taking shape. You can even read more about how personalized search works directly on Googles official webmaster blog. I think the problem is that most people have a hard time changing and the search engine marketing industry is very fast changing and fast moving industry that can quickly leave people behind if they dont pay attention to what is going on around them. SEO companies pop up over night with inexperienced individuals make shotty promises and performing subpar search engine marketing techniques just adding to that bubble.

As this continues that bubble keeps building and eventually sites like Google are going to drop the hammer on the whole search engine optimization industry. I can see the similarities between the SEO industry and the real estate industry clearly. The greed and the money symbols in some peoples eyes are inflating this industry leading it to its demise. The worst part about it is that many of us professionals are left with a tarnished image from all the bad apples. Too many businesses out there have already been burned leaving it very difficult for the ones that do it right to really get the credibility they deserve and to pass on their experience and industry knowledge to their Clients. I guess with every tool comes abuse it is just unfortunate to see it have gotten to this point.

Eventually this bubble is going to pop, where will you be when it happens? Will you have changed your ways and your techniques to cushion the blow? Or are you going to be scrambling around and trying to find out how to adapt at the 11th hour? It will be too late at that point. Like everything in life, what comes up must come down sooner or later and the search engines are getting ready for a much needed clean up.

This clean up will happen sooner than later piercing through the bubble and showering the industry with some upset individuals and firms. The problem stems from a lack of knowledge and not enough outside the box thinking. Outside the box thinking like how to put together a nice solid link bait campaign and not figuring out how to control the search results with a not so news worthy press release. Google is dropping a very large algorithm change towards the middle of 2010 which I strongly believe could be the first stages of not only speeding up the efficiency but eliminating the trash that makes its way into search results.

This could very well be the very first attempt to shifting peoples focus away from just rankings and shifting it over to simply marketing their business online the right way. The search engine industry is just getting started but it is growing very very quickly. Unfortunately there needs to be a shift in focus and I think we are starting to see that now. Customers dont become customers by bumping into one of your hundred articles that you released in one day. They become customers by trusting online brands over time.

How to Improve Website SEO without Compromising on Design

Should you sacrifice the design of your site for ranking well on search engines? Let’s see.

With the arrival of search engine marketing consultants and ready made website templates, the top search engine ranks are flooded with the WebPages of firms that can shell out cash. You can use SEO on your site and the usual approach can take you up by a few hundred positions. But, for the top of search engines you have to put in a ton of effort even to get a small gain in rank.

So, how to accomplish SEO without messing up with the design?

If you already have a website, you have almost certainly tied it into your promotional content on hand. Even if you have allowed your site to provide for the more liberated form of the web, it should nevertheless be planned as an identifiable expansion of your industry.

To effectively mix gorgeous design with efficient SEO, you should either be a company that can spend millions on advertising, through television, billboards, radio, and promotions with your custom logos; or you can use the other alternative of doing some design planning, market research, and be in a position to understand some basics of SEO, HTML and CSS. Or, you can hire people with a mixture of these skills.

To rank you well, the search engines should be able to find rich, appropriate, updated, and relevant content on your WebPages. But if the content is all jumbled up and confusing, not a soul is going to read the content.

It’s not easy to get a website optimized without doing a complete overhaul. The reason is that SEO and design must have a symbiotic connection for best results.

You should precisely understand the role your website in your business promotion. You need to know your website’s goal and how it is going to work. There is a probability that you won’t know all this. Nevertheless, this will give you some info on what exactly the seo services or designer should achieve for you.

It is better to get your home page optimized with some content about the history of your company, the quality of your products, and so on. You should also create pertinent content for the search engines and provide supplementary pages that can rank.

If your site designer is not a SEO pro, you should hire one to work with your designer, right from the beginning of your site’s development. With advances in CSS and html, text itself can be a very flexible and attractive design element. And it always pays off if the designer and SEO are the same person or company, or at least have a close working relationship.

A nice looking site is not going to do any good if no one finds it. Likewise, a nicely Search Engine optimized site is not going to be read if the design is poor and the text unreadable. So, both the design and SEO are important. And it takes professionals to achieve this balance.

Search Engine Optimization and Increasing Profit

Search Engine Optimization is an essential part of today’s online business dealings. It can boost your business transactions and productivity. As the number of people viewing your business website increases, there is a big possibility that the sales of your product will also increase. Search engine optimization is widely used now. For beginners however, it is important to learn the basic terms in search engine optimization. You don’t have to be tech savvy to know all these stuff.

A landing page is the page that appears as a visitor opens your website. You must make sure that all the contents of this page including the title, are keyword-rich so that web spiders can easily detect them. Also, you must make your content interesting so that visitors will stay longer in the site.

The loading time is also a vital consideration in the SEO process because it has been proven that if a site takes minutes or longer to open, the visitor transfers to another site instead.

Your web site should also have the appropriate links. A link connects the visitor to a particular keyword or topic usually within the site.  Provide visitors with internal links that will make their inquiry easier and not otherwise. Also, always make sure that your links still work. Links that do not work will affect the integrity of your site.

You should also be particular with your content. Make your content updated and worth reading so that visitors will remember your site. Remember also to put your keywords in the appropriate portions of the content. Another thing is that if the visitor finds your site content excellent, he or she will recommend it to his/her friends thus making your site a favorite place to visit.

Search engine optimization helps people to have a better access to your web site and more importantly helps you and your business gather more clients. It is less expensive and more doable than doing heavy television and newspaper marketing. The following are some techniques in search engine optimization.

You must take note that it is important to have a key phrase that describes your website. It should be a phrase that a costumer will most likely use in searching for your product or service. In this way, you will then appear on the most relevant sites.

Search engine optimization requires your excellent understanding of the competition itself. The focus of the process should be on how to outdo the other companies in terms of site rankings and not so much on the theme of the website.

Keywords are the main ingredients of a search engine optimization process. Always make sure that your page is rich in keywords, and such keywords should be used in title tags and metatags.

Most search engines have the tendency to disregard web pages that employ excessive keywords and phrases. Therefore you must make sure that you only use the appropriate and necessary keywords in doing search engine optimization.

Using the key phrase of your SEO in your links and blogs is another technique in promoting your website. Search Engine optimization coupled with web site promotion can give better results. You must be open to all possibilities.

There is no better way to test whether or not your search engine optimization yields good results than to key in your target phrase on the popular search engines.

Seeking the Right Affiliate Internet Marketing Program for Your Web Site

Basically, Affiliate internet marketing is a great introduction to ecommerce as well as earning extra money.
Affiliate internet marketing is an advertising arrangement wherein a company offers to pay you, as an individual or business owner, an agreed amount of money depending on the advertising results from your site:

-          A percentage of the amount of a purchase made by a visitor from a click through a link posted at your site.
-          A click from your web site linked to the business’ site;
-          A fixed amount for a lead, where a visitor sign up for a newsletter or other special offer

Affiliate internet marketing usually allows”cookie duration” of 30 to 90 days. This means that if a visitor clicks from your web site to the business’ web site, the visitor will acquire the cookie in their cache. If ever the visitor returns to the business’ site to make a purchase in the given period of time, the cookie will still be in their cache, and you‘ll receive your commission from the purchase for that certain visitor. However, don’t assume this to be the same in all agreements.

Locating the best suitable affiliate internet marketing program for your site can be very difficult and tedious at some point. It’s recommended that you have an extended amount of time to search the details of an appropriate affiliate internet marketing programs that best suites you standards for this; then implement the links; and monitor all relevant activity. This can take very long hours and perhaps prove to be not a suitable big money maker. Furthermore, many affiliate programs come into existence and then suddenly vanishing just as quick; this means that purchases or click through your web site may not be paid in such incidences, that why careful monitoring is very much advisable in this kind of online marketing strategy.

Carefulness is very much need in approaching the search for affiliate internet marketing opportunities. One example is that; choose an affiliate program with a major advertising agency that offers hundreds or thousands of advertisers to choose from. Another alternative worth considering are the individual companies to represent on your web site. A company that’s well known, having a good product or service, offers great affiliate support, and is sure to commit to regular payment with a low payout threshold; they actually perform better than some other agency associations. This can most definitely be the instance at hand if the business you’re representing offers residual income, or some monthly commissions coming from referred clients for services that would include web hosting or some other source of information. Steady affiliation with these types of individual advertisers, over time, builds up a steady and reliable stream of reliable income for you.

However, be vigilant of the affiliate internet marketing programs that you have to pay to join. These types of affiliate internet marketing programs are actually called MLMs or Multi Level Marketing associations. There are actually some very successful and respectable MLMs out there, but there are also some that only functions as scams that are simply there to take your money without any means of offering any type of support. Research these MLMs carefully before committing to their affiliate internet marketing programs.

All you need to do is simply be careful, vigilant and diligent in your work, and in no time you’ll get that hard earned success.

A frequents question is; why is SEO such a popular topic that causes debates in the SEO community. In my humble opinion there are 6 reasons why Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has the popularity that it currently enjoys.

Numbers so dominate cannot be ignored even by the biggest opponents of search engine optimization. Also, SEO is focused on optimizing websites for ranking success that’s why many are interested in it.

2.     SEO Controversy – Search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the most controversial topics concerning website operations. SEO basically provides a viable method for websites to be seen in search engines which are crucial for traffic. But opponents disgusted with SEO claim that there are other ways to gain visibility on search engines without SEO. Such situation, which has some merit on arguments on both sides, generates debates between proponents of SEO and SEO opponents on continuous bases that are fought on the web and even in the TV and magazines. Simply put controversy produces attention and whether you like it or hate it, SEO really does provide a great deal of controversy.

Professional SEO: Outsourcing

It’s usually a question if SEO or search engine optimization can be carried out from in-house work. And ‘yes!’ you can achieve professional SEO results using existing talent. However for some that have succeeded in it, there are those that failed in their in-house efforts. We’ve also discovered the companies that have succeeded share some common traits.

For in-house SEO, there are some factors to consider before proceeding.

-        Consider Proper Resources to achieve professional SEO results. – SEO takes time, and your internal SEO expert will need to have a great deal of it at his or her disposal, especially when everything is first being established. After the initial optimizatiob, SEO still requires the user to spend ample time in keeping up with the trends and monitoring progress and everything in relation to it. Achieving professional SEO results requires a unique set of aptitudes. The person responsible for your internal SEO initiative must possess the ability to learn quickly and to look at your website from a macro-perspective, marrying together the needs of sales, marketing, and IT. Risks are dangerous here since it can get your site penalized. These gifted people exist in many companies, but given the unique attributes that these individuals possess, their time is often already spent in other crucial areas of the business. But remember that time is still a very crucial thing.

-        Know the departments of your computer that are involved and if they’ll work with an insider. – SEO involves marketing, sales, and IT. The SEO expert needs to work with marketing in finding out types of offers and initiative and working offline to help translate them in an effectively online. Working with sales is a must to identify the types of leads that are most valuable so that you can target the right people in the key phrase selection. Also, the SEO expert will need to work with IT to determine any technical limitations to the SEO recommendations, learn of any past initiatives based on a technical approach, and get the final optimization schemes on the site. Be advised of adversarial relationship as well. It is the duty of the SEO expert to act as a project manager and coordinate the efforts of all three departments. No professional SEO project can be completed in a vacuum.

-        Know if someone is accountable for results – This seems like a small consideration but it can have a great impact on the probability of success. If you have added this responsibility to some poor soul’s job description with the direction that he or she should “do the best you can,” you’ll be lucky to make any headway at all (especially if the person is not enthusiastic about SEO). Whether SEO is done in-house or not, someone still has to take responsibility for showing the progress, in explaining setbacks and continually improving the results. Without this accountability, it is very common to see an initiative fade as the buck is passed.

-        How do I afford delayed results based on a learning curve? - Professional SEO expertise has a abrupt learning curve. While the information in performing basics is freely available on the web, much of the information can also be contradictory. It takes time for someone unfamiliar with the discipline to sort the SEO wheat from the SEO chaff (on a side note, a “quoted” search of Google reveals that this may actually mark the first occasion in human history that the phrase “SEO chaff” has been used – we’re betting it’s also the last). Basically, if the person you’re putting on the job has no experience, it’ll take longer to get results. This may not be a consideration if you aren’t counting on new business from SEO any time soon. Time might be a larger factor though if you have many competitors.

Blogging to your market

Blogging has become an art form, with a lot of skill and talent required to make a blog a good environment. The best bloggers play to their own strengths, and blog in areas where they can use their strongest skills. They also know how to use SEO effectively, and can create truly fascinating blogs about the things they love.

Blogs can be like different worlds. Every blog has its individual characteristics and its best features. Typically, a blog will have some excellent materials, some so-so, and some debatable materials which may or may not add much.
The “blog experience” is basically a measure of the level of individuality and uniqueness. This is also the basis of a blog’s popularity and the amount of interest it generates.
The Expert Factor

The fact is that experts can do things with their subjects that others simply can’t. An expert tech blogger can make the most obscure technology fascinating. News bloggers seem to have an instinct for finding the best, most interesting, and sometimes most bizarre news stories.

Some of this is natural instinct, but the great blog has inspiration, as well. Because they know their subjects so well, they can also develop and explain their information a lot better than the “professionals” that seem to have a genius for making any subject as exciting as a used dishcloth.

Blogging from your strengths

Before you put down a word on your blog-

• What are the subjects which really motivate you to blog and express your ideas?
• What defines your blog as an experience?
• What’s great, not so great, and “Er…” about your blog?
• What is obviously popular about your blog?

These points are a map of your blog’s strengths and weaknesses. Every blog that gets hits has some strengths. The question when blogging from scratch is really how to reinforce the strengths and get rid of the weak spots.

A few pointers:

1. You can’t please everyone. Don’t even try. It’s impossible. There’s a famous saying in media- “Those who don’t get it, don’t get it.”
2. The areas where your skills and knowledge are strongest are also the easiest to develop into something special. The most important part of any blog is content quality, and these areas are where you can achieve real results.
3. Innovate, but don’t get into areas or subjects where you can’t really do much with the materials. They can be a dead end, and setting up special features where you can’t follow through can be a huge waste of time.

The SEO factor

If you’re doing a niche blog, Search Engine Optimization is a valuable tool. Links, backlinks, keywords, and visibility online are critically important. The best way to get SEO on your side is also with targeted quality content in your niche.

The fundamental facts are that your skills need to match your blog, when you’re blogging from scratch. One good blog piece is worth more than any amount of glitz and will get you a lot more users a lot faster than anything else. Stick to your strengths, and you’ll have a great blog experience.
